Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT), also referred to as biventricular pacing, is often recommended for patients with severe heart dysfunction and congestive heart failure (CHF). Nearly 30% of patients with congestive heart failure have an abnormality that causes the two ventricles (heart chambers) to beat out of synch, one after another, rather than simultaneously.
